PotTerre Raku (Angels)
PotTerre Angels
Stoneware and raku fabrication. Measuring 4″ to 12″ in height. Each angel is made one-at-a-time, thrown on the wheel and dressed with raku halo and wings post firing.
The bodice is stoneware fired in a controlled kiln environment. Raku is a firing method using rapid firing and combustible reduction. The raku pieces are fired to 1800 degrees and then placed in paper which ignites. The flames and smoke interact as the molten glaze reduces in an oxygen-starved container.Â
These angels’ wings are glazed to produce copper, blue, purple, green, and red flashes of color. Small fissures and surface scars from the firing process make them that much more unique.
We are sure that you will be able to find the exact figurine you have always wanted to showcase & convey the intention of a peaceful & spiritually sound living area.
