The attractive BEALIN CROSS by McHarp is beautifully detailed, hand cast and hand finished, and is a replica from County Westmeath, Ireland. The Bealin Cross features patterns reminiscent of the Book of Kells, with intertwined animals and knotwork that symbolizes the Trinity.  Made of a sturdy cast stone-like material, colored and sealed, ready to hang!  Indoors or outdoors, great addition to any home or garden!

On the arms of the cross are key patterns. The Celts, unlike everyone else doing key patterns at the time, put them at a diagonal, The Knotwork at the top of the cross is a triad, which symbolizes the Trinity. This cross has been dated at about 800. An inscription on the opposite side reads “Pray for Tuathgail who caused this cross to be made.” An abbot of Clonmacnois of this name died in 810 where the coss is thought to have originated.

Included is a tag with the history of the cross.
